Butters Clubhouse

Visual Identity, Promotional Content, Brand and Creative Direction

How it all Started:

Summer 2018, we were sick of techno and the heavy minimalism driving the music scene in Berlin.

Yearning for a brighter, new concept style of party based on online music and trends - Butters Clubhouse was created.

The Art/Creative direction is gradient forward and inspired by the internet’s “Endless Scrolling” environment. Web 1.0 3D style type paired with fun bubble-like illustrations reminiscence of early blogs.

Work Done:

My job here was to come up with a creative visual identity which included eye-catching and contemporary promotional materials.

More Information:

Organised by Nico Lim, Naomi Stuhlman, Fjola Gautadóttir and Natasha Lall; BUTTERS was a monthly Queer/Transgender/Non-binary dress up theme party which put on nights in multiple Berlin venues from 2018-2019.

The night was founded through the group’s collective love for Soundcloud pop remixes, back when hyperpop was still a majority underground genre. The night had a focus on booking queer/trans/non-binary artists, performers and DJs as well as bringing a diverse range of club music to the dancefloors of Berlin. The party soon gained popularity and collaborated with fellow dress-up gabber collective BLADEBEXXX. The two collectives thus then joined forces to form MORDORKORE, a medieval hard dance dress up rave where participants were encouraged to don medieval costumes. (Elves, warlocks, witches, trolls etc.)
