We were approached by Sante Naturkosmetik to empower and drive change within the new Bio Generation.

The main methodology used here was Human Centred Design. (Refer to Diagram on right)

Problem:

Sante Naturkosmetik has been struggling tap into their Gen X/Gen Z market, how might they empower this new Bio Generation?

Who:

The brand is an established German vegan skincare brand from the 80s; they pride themselves for staying true to using 100% vegan, cruelty free and sustainable ingredients in their product.

 

How:

The First Step is to gather data through

Desk Research,
User Interviews,
Expert Interviews
and Market Research

Desk Research, User Interviews, Expert Interviews and Market Research produces a myriad of information which is then analysed and collated using a series of Design Thinking Tools. (Card sorting, Axis Grids etc)

The Key Insights gathered are:

1. System - Systems can create a sense of community for people to act responsibly and feel empowered.

2. Relationship - A space for dialogue between the customer and the brand can create sustainable value.

3. Education - Integrating awareness about the environmental impact in our daily lifestyle in an accessible and approachable way.

Based on the information gathered we narrowed down and pinpointed these touch points, then developed into a series of phases.

These are finally refined into working, visual ideas.

The idea is then conceptualised as a native/web app.

This consists of a p2p community platform which will help
bridge the gap between the brand and its consumers.

Thus, forming a bond and developing loyalty.

The platform will also empower the creation of a community
with the goal of driving sustainable and environmental change through skill share.

Creative Direction

The goal was to create a certain level of flatness/muteness meant to mimic paper. This coupled with engaging and friendly illustrations while using a similar, open tone of voice. The visuals and tone of voice paired with the platform’s easy usability is there to further convey and emphasise the true ease of empowering sustainable and
environmental impacts.

Work Done:

A joint effort with Strategic Designer, Mariam Jajja, Plans was a strategic and innovation project about the power of community. The project included the conceptualisation of a solution using the means of user-centered design. This app encourages the audience to get into sustainability through a
hands-on approach.
